We are developing small, non-equity grants for expert generalists with an experiment to try or a question to pursue.
Before you know the answer
An experiment can be worth doing well before it has a business plan. It may need a piece of equipment, time in an archive, or a few weeks to build something and see whether it works.
We want to support people who have done enough thinking to know what they need to try. The work should draw on real knowledge, and there should be something to learn from the attempt, even if the idea fails.
The grants programme is being developed alongside the Institute. It will make room for research and experiments that may never become companies.
Where things stand
We will publish the grant amounts, eligibility and application process here when the programme is ready.
In the meantime, we are beginning with small gatherings in Europe. We would like to hear what you are working on.
