Some minds were never meant for one field.

The boundaries we draw between subjects shape what we learn to see, which questions we ask and which possibilities we overlook. We believe people who can move across those boundaries, carrying knowledge from one field into another, will be essential to solving some of the world’s biggest problems.

As AI expands what individuals can learn, build and test, we have an opportunity to widen who gets to contribute to human knowledge. Realising that opportunity takes curiosity, independent judgement and the freedom to pursue a question whose answer is uncertain. We want to support people in creating net new knowledge: discoveries, explanations and methods that change what we understand and what becomes possible.

We’re starting with small gatherings, building towards lasting relationships, access to expertise and eventually small grants. Original work can be difficult to recognise while it is taking shape. Our ambition is to give people the trust, resources and room to pursue it before its value is obvious or an established institution knows where it belongs.
